Guide
How to read this table
- Day master
- The heavenly stem of the day pillar, shown as the Chinese character, its Korean romanization and its yin or yang element. In saju the whole chart is read from this stem.
- Zodiac animal
- The earthly branch of the year pillar. The saju year starts at Lichun, around February 4, rather than at the Lunar New Year, so a January or early February birthday takes the previous year's animal.
- Sun sign
- The Western zodiac sign the sun was in on the birth date.
- Chart characters
- Each pillar is one stem and one branch. With the hour unknown, every member has three pillars and so six characters. The bars above add those characters up for the whole group.
Work out your own four pillars with the saju calculator, or read how Bias Match gets its data.
